Arkansas Baptists

I have just returned form a two day conference on Associational work. The Arkansas Baptist State Convention sponsored the conference for DOM's and those who may one day be a DOM. Marvin Peters of the State office was the leader. I was impressed. Every speaker spoke with a passion. The passion was not about being a Baptist, it was not about being conservative, it was not about a doctrinal viewpoint, but a passion for reaching the not reached. One of the participants was Margaret Slusher. Now, what could a lady share with a room full of preachers about church and associational work? Lots! Marvin, thanks for inviting her, Margaret, thanks for coming.
I left the conference re-energized, recharged, and restored. Everytime I am around the staff of the ABSC I come away thankful. Guys, I am glad you are there. I am proud to be an Arkansas Baptist and proud to encourage the church I serve to support the ABSC.
