THE BODY

We live in a day when the church is called irrelevant by some, deemed irrelevant by others by lack of support to their own local church, and outright rejected by others who call themselves committed Christians. It has amazed this pastor when in the last few years I have talked with several once faithful Church members who have opted out of "the organized Church." It is interesting, though to see that work out in practice. Here are some examples: "Can our kids come to your AWANA, we do family/home church and they need more fellowship." "Can you take our kids to Youth Camp?" "Can we use you building for_____________?" And the list could go on. You see, many who have opted out find that there really is a need for the Body of Christ to come together as the Church, in a somewhat organized fashion.

Now, to my real reason for the post. I really want to speak to parents who have not left the church. Instill in your children a love for Jesus and a love for His Church. You do that by your own support and commitment, and by refraining from being hyper-critical. I do not put the Church above Christ, but I want all to know "I Love the Church." Not just the body of all the redeemed, but I love South Hills Baptist in Montana City, MT. I am praying that this summer God will do some "Body Building" in our midst.
